Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Telecoms, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 2.02% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA), which rose 1.20% or 0.120 points to trade at 10.120 at the close. Meanwhile, J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) fell 0.62% or 0.1050 points to end at 16.7600 and REN (LS:RENE) was down 1.05% or 0.0260 points to 2.4520 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which fell 10.07% or 0.0205 points to trade at 0.1830 at the close. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) declined 5.69% or 0.2250 points to end at 3.7300 and The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) was down 2.99% or 0.1300 points to 4.2160.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 31 to 5 and 3 ended unchanged.
Shares in Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) fell to 52-week lows; down 10.07% or 0.0205 to 0.1830.
Brent oil for April delivery was down 1.02% or 0.70 to $67.88 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.74% or 1.14 to hit $64.31 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.01% or 0.20 to trade at $1337.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.26% to 1.2424, while EUR/GBP rose 0.39% to 0.8856.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 89.30.
