Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Basic Materials and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 1.52% to hit a new 52-week low.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA), which rose 0.55% or 0.050 points to trade at 9.160 at the close. Meanwhile, Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) added 0.33% or 0.0030 points to end at 0.8990 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) was up 0.13% or 0.0040 points to 3.2020 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sonae SGPS SA (LS:YSO), which fell 2.51% or 0.0205 points to trade at 0.7955 at the close. The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) declined 2.51% or 0.0880 points to end at 3.4240 and Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) was down 2.50% or 0.1400 points to 5.4700.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 26 to 4.
Shares in Sonae SGPS SA (LS:YSO) fell to 52-week lows; losing 2.51% or 0.0205 to 0.7955. Shares in The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) fell to 52-week lows; falling 2.51% or 0.0880 to 3.4240.
Brent oil for February delivery was down 0.51% or 0.31 to $59.97 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 1.36% or 0.70 to hit $50.77 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.64% or 8.00 to trade at $1249.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.39% to 1.1350, while EUR/GBP rose 0.12% to 0.8995.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.36% at 96.565.
