Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Utilities, Telecoms and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 1.44% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT), which rose 1.42% or 0.2250 points to trade at 16.0750 at the close. Meanwhile, Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) added 0.58% or 0.0330 points to end at 5.6800 and Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) was up 0.43% or 0.050 points to 11.785 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT), which fell 5.84% or 0.2210 points to trade at 3.5610 at the close. EDP (LS:EDP) declined 4.58% or 0.1420 points to end at 2.9560 and Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) was down 3.87% or 0.0170 points to 0.4220.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 29 to 8 and 5 ended unchanged.
Shares in CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) fell to all time lows; down 5.84% or 0.2210 to 3.5610. Shares in Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) rose to all time highs; rising 0.58% or 0.0330 to 5.6800.
Brent oil for January delivery was up 1.63% or 0.99 to $61.61 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 1.34% or 0.73 to hit $55.27 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.71% or 9.07 to trade at $1269.03 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.48% to 1.1602, while EUR/GBP fell 0.48% to 0.8884.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.31% at 94.91.
