Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Utilities, Basic Materials and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 0.71%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Teixeira Duarte (LISBON:TDSA), which rose 2.73% or 0.0120 points to trade at 0.4510 at the close. Meanwhile, Altri SGPS (LISBON:ALSS) added 0.85% or 0.0310 points to end at 3.6940 and Mota Engil (LISBON:MOTA) was up 0.75% or 0.0160 points to 2.1490 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were EDP Renovaveis (LISBON:EDPRu), which fell 2.51% or 0.1520 points to trade at 5.9040 at the close. Banif SA (LISBON:BANIF) declined 2.50% or 0.0001 points to end at 0.0040 and Semapa (LISBON:SEM) was down 1.34% or 0.1600 points to 11.8100.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 38 to 16.
Brent oil for November delivery was down 2.11% or 1.03 to $48.05 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 3.48% or 1.63 to hit $45.27 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 1.82% or 20.30 to trade at $1137.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.56% to 1.1371, while EUR/GBP fell 0.50% to 0.7298.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.22% at 94.84.
