Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Consumer Services and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 0.70% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were EDP (LS:EDP), which rose 0.40% or 0.0130 points to trade at 3.2290 at the close. Meanwhile, EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) added 0.40% or 0.0270 points to end at 6.8500 and Montepio (LS:MPIO) was up 0.20% or 0.002 points to 1.000 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT), which fell 1.89% or 0.3150 points to trade at 16.3350 at the close. Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) declined 1.88% or 0.0060 points to end at 0.3140 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) was down 1.68% or 0.0038 points to 0.2220.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 23 to 14 and 6 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for November delivery was down 1.15% or 0.60 to $51.38 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 3.41% or 1.63 to hit $46.24 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 1.12% or 14.51 to trade at $1312.41 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.43% to 1.1976, while EUR/GBP rose 0.05% to 0.9262.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.31% at 92.18.
