Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Basic Materials and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 0.68%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Sonae (LS:YSO), which rose 1.15% or 0.0140 points to trade at 1.2270 at the close. Meanwhile, Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS) added 0.42% or 0.050 points to end at 12.000 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) was up 0.40% or 0.0140 points to 3.5540 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which fell 2.22% or 0.0074 points to trade at 0.3265 at the close. The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) declined 1.47% or 0.0680 points to end at 4.5720 and Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) was down 1.36% or 0.0700 points to 5.0700.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 23 to 13 and 5 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for March delivery was down 0.13% or 0.09 to $69.87 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.56% or 0.36 to hit $64.83 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 1.22% or 16.30 to trade at $1353.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.74% to 1.2389, while EUR/GBP fell 0.63% to 0.8728.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.83% at 89.13.
