Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Utilities, Basic Materials and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.63%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco Comercial Portugues (LISBON:BCP), which rose 3.33% or 0.0017 points to trade at 0.0527 at the close. Meanwhile, CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LISBON:CTT) added 1.72% or 0.1590 points to end at 9.4210 and EDP Renovaveis (LISBON:EDPRu) was up 0.96% or 0.0570 points to 6.0210 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Galp Energia Nom (LISBON:GALP), which fell 3.89% or 0.3540 points to trade at 8.7460 at the close. Impresa SGPS (LISBON:IMPA) declined 3.84% or 0.03 points to end at 0.70 and Teixeira Duarte (LISBON:TDSA) was down 3.11% or 0.0140 points to 0.4360.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 36 to 14 and 2 ended unchanged.
Shares in Impresa SGPS (LISBON:IMPA) fell to 52-week lows; losing 3.84% or 0.03 to 0.70. Shares in Teixeira Duarte (LISBON:TDSA) fell to 52-week lows; down 3.11% or 0.0140 to 0.4360.
Brent oil for October delivery was up 1.46% or 0.69 to $48.27 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 2.42% or 1.07 to hit $45.22 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.74% or 8.20 to trade at $1110.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.54% to 1.1267, while EUR/GBP rose 0.03% to 0.7296.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.42% at 95.56.
