Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Financials and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.53%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 1.07% or 0.0260 points to trade at 2.4580 at the close. Meanwhile, Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) added 1.03% or 0.1450 points to end at 14.1950 and Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) was up 0.93% or 0.0070 points to 0.7590 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which fell 4.78% or 0.0150 points to trade at 0.2990 at the close. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) declined 3.54% or 0.0079 points to end at 0.2151 and Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) was down 1.56% or 0.0580 points to 3.6510.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 20 to 15 and 9 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for November delivery was up 1.97% or 1.03 to $53.37 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 2.81% or 1.33 to hit $48.62 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.90% or 11.95 to trade at $1342.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.13% to 1.1911, while EUR/GBP fell 0.59% to 0.9148.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.30% at 92.29.
