Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Technology and Consumer Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.51%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 11.17% or 0.1820 points to trade at 1.8120 at the close. Meanwhile, CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) added 1.31% or 0.0440 points to end at 3.4000 and Sonae SGPS SA (LS:YSO) was up 0.54% or 0.0045 points to 0.8450 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS), which fell 2.68% or 0.1800 points to trade at 6.5300 at the close. The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) declined 2.59% or 0.0960 points to end at 3.6040 and Semapa (LS:SEM) was down 2.53% or 0.3600 points to 13.8600.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 17 to 13 and 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) fell to 52-week lows; losing 2.59% or 0.0960 to 3.6040. Shares in Semapa (LS:SEM) fell to 52-week lows; losing 2.53% or 0.3600 to 13.8600.
Brent oil for February delivery was down 1.60% or 0.97 to $59.59 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.82% or 0.94 to hit $50.69 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.78% or 9.60 to trade at $1219.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.34% to 1.1290, while EUR/GBP rose 0.25% to 0.8863.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.36% at 97.325.
