Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Basic Materials and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 0.49%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS), which rose 1.93% or 0.1700 points to trade at 8.9600 at the close. Meanwhile, Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) added 1.69% or 0.2900 points to end at 17.4300 and Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) was up 1.26% or 0.140 points to 11.280 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT), which fell 6.81% or 0.9050 points to trade at 12.3850 at the close. Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) declined 2.95% or 0.0070 points to end at 0.2300 and Sonae (LS:YSO) was down 2.50% or 0.0245 points to 0.9545.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 17 to 11 and 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 1.69% or 0.2900 to 17.4300.
Brent oil for September delivery was up 0.70% or 0.52 to $74.45 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.61% or 0.42 to hit $69.72 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.45% or 5.50 to trade at $1226.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.55% to 1.1663, while EUR/GBP fell 0.10% to 0.8883.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.46% at 94.41.
