Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Utilities and Consumer Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 0.45%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT), which rose 4.61% or 0.1610 points to trade at 3.6550 at the close. Meanwhile, Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) added 2.20% or 0.0060 points to end at 0.2790 and Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) was up 0.45% or 0.0040 points to 0.8980 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA), which fell 3.00% or 0.335 points to trade at 10.840 at the close. J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) declined 1.67% or 0.2650 points to end at 15.6350 and EDP (LS:EDP) was down 1.64% or 0.0480 points to 2.8770.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 18 to 15 and 5 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for February delivery was up 0.71% or 0.45 to $64.25 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.73% or 0.42 to hit $57.98 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.55% or 6.90 to trade at $1271.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.35% to 1.1881, while EUR/GBP rose 0.29% to 0.8870.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.19% at 92.87.
