Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Industrials, Basic Materials and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 0.35% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP), which rose 1.64% or 0.2600 points to trade at 16.1600 at the close. Meanwhile, EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) added 1.13% or 0.0780 points to end at 6.9780 and Novabase SGPS (LS:NBA) was up 1.06% or 0.038 points to 3.635 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS), which fell 8.08% or 0.4590 points to trade at 5.2210 at the close. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) declined 3.20% or 0.1140 points to end at 3.4470 and Semapa (LS:SEM) was down 3.06% or 0.5250 points to 16.6250.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 21 to 13 and 3 ended unchanged.
Shares in Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 1.64% or 0.2600 to 16.1600. Shares in CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) fell to all time lows; losing 3.20% or 0.1140 to 3.4470.
Brent oil for January delivery was up 2.87% or 1.78 to $63.85 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 2.55% or 1.42 to hit $57.06 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.98% or 12.45 to trade at $1281.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.04% to 1.1610, while EUR/GBP fell 0.56% to 0.8827.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 94.67.
