Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Utilities and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 0.29%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Semapa (LS:SEM), which rose 2.34% or 0.3200 points to trade at 13.9800 at the close. Meanwhile, Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) added 1.44% or 0.0900 points to end at 6.3500 and Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) was up 0.87% or 0.080 points to 9.300 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which fell 2.27% or 0.0400 points to trade at 1.7240 at the close. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) declined 1.35% or 0.0420 points to end at 3.0800 and J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) was down 1.35% or 0.1450 points to 10.6050.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 20 to 12 and 3 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for March delivery was up 2.13% or 1.22 to $58.55 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 2.35% or 1.14 to hit $49.66 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.21% or 2.65 to trade at $1287.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.19% to 1.1452, while EUR/GBP rose 0.31% to 0.9003.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.21% at 95.428.
