Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Consumer Services and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 0.27%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Sonae (LS:YSO), which rose 3.63% or 0.0400 points to trade at 1.1410 at the close. Meanwhile, The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) added 1.41% or 0.0600 points to end at 4.3190 and Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) was up 0.70% or 0.0260 points to 3.7510 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which fell 8.01% or 0.0250 points to trade at 0.2870 at the close. REN (LS:RENE) declined 1.30% or 0.0320 points to end at 2.4300 and J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) was down 1.07% or 0.1750 points to 16.1750.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 18 to 14 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in Sonae (LS:YSO) rose to 52-week highs; rising 3.63% or 0.0400 to 1.1410.
Brent oil for February delivery was down 1.09% or 0.69 to $62.65 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.46% or 0.26 to hit $56.88 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.56% or 6.90 to trade at $1248.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.19% to 1.1764, while EUR/GBP fell 0.10% to 0.8808.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 93.87.
