Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 0.14%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR), which rose 1.61% or 0.1400 points to trade at 8.8300 at the close. Meanwhile, Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) added 1.12% or 0.1950 points to end at 17.5900 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) was up 0.94% or 0.0025 points to 0.2684 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were F.Rama (LS:RAMA), which fell 1.96% or 0.200 points to trade at 10.000 at the close. Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS) declined 1.96% or 0.200 points to end at 10.000 and Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) was down 1.86% or 0.0170 points to 0.8970.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 16 to 16 and 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) rose to 5-year highs; rising 1.12% or 0.1950 to 17.5900.
Brent oil for October delivery was down 1.06% or 0.80 to $74.75 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.70% or 1.19 to hit $68.94 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.36% or 4.40 to trade at $1225.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.01% to 1.1705, while EUR/GBP rose 0.03% to 0.8917.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 94.25.
