Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Utilities, Consumer Goods and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.13% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banif SA (LS:BANIF), which rose 17.39% or 0.0004 points to trade at 0.0027 at the close. Meanwhile, Semapa (LS:SEM) added 3.37% or 0.4200 points to end at 12.8850 and Sonae (LS:YSO) was up 2.13% or 0.0220 points to 1.0560 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were EDP (LS:EDP), which fell 3.11% or 0.1010 points to trade at 3.1490 at the close. Impresa SGPS (LS:IMPA) declined 2.41% or 0.0140 points to end at 0.5660 and Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) was down 0.98% or 0.0970 points to 9.8260.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 35 to 18 and 2 ended unchanged.
Shares in Impresa SGPS (LS:IMPA) fell to 52-week lows; falling 2.41% or 0.0140 to 0.5660.
Brent oil for January delivery was down 2.83% or 1.36 to $46.74 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 2.71% or 1.20 to hit $43.01 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.30% or 3.30 to trade at $1085.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.02% to 1.0726, while EUR/GBP fell 0.54% to 0.7056.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.09% at 99.17.
