Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Financials, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.53%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which rose 2.04% or 0.0048 points to trade at 0.2405 at the close. Meanwhile, Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) added 1.81% or 0.2400 points to end at 13.4950 and Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) was up 1.31% or 0.0040 points to 0.3090 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC), which fell 2.00% or 0.0180 points to trade at 0.8830 at the close. Sonae (LS:YSO) declined 1.75% or 0.0170 points to end at 0.9570 and Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) was down 0.98% or 0.0520 points to 5.2620.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 20 to 20 and 6 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for September delivery was up 1.39% or 0.68 to $49.45 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.65% or 0.76 to hit $46.80 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 1.50% or 18.67 to trade at $1223.63 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.60% to 1.1358, while EUR/GBP fell 0.02% to 0.8768.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.60% at 95.96.
