Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financials, Technology and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI added 1.85%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT), which rose 3.54% or 0.14 points to trade at 4.24 at the close. Meanwhile, Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP) added 3.41% or 0.01 points to end at 0.37 and Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA) was up 2.76% or 0.09 points to 3.35 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Greenvolt Energias Renovaveis SA (ELI:GVOLT), which unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to trade at 8.30 at the close. Ibersol SGPS (ELI:IBS) added 0.29% or 0.02 points to end at 7.00 and Altri SGPS SA (ELI:ALSS) was up 0.59% or 0.03 points to 4.80.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 26 to 1 and 3 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for October delivery was up 2.79% or 2.13 to $78.61 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 3.20% or 2.34 to hit $75.54 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.14% or 3.35 to trade at $2,434.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.07% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.19% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 103.01.
