Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Technology, Consumer Goods and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI rose 1.76%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT), which rose 5.32% or 0.97 points to trade at 19.22 at the close. Meanwhile, Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA) added 3.08% or 0.11 points to end at 3.55 and Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP) was up 2.97% or 0.01 points to 0.35 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were The Navigator Company SA (ELI:NVGR), which fell 0.36% or 0.01 points to trade at 3.87 at the close. Ren Redes Energeticas Nacionais SGPS SA (ELI:RENE) declined 0.22% or 0.01 points to end at 2.29 and Altri SGPS SA (ELI:ALSS) was up 0.28% or 0.02 points to 5.40.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 20 to 10 and 4 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for September delivery was up 1.64% or 1.39 to $86.39 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.79% or 1.46 to hit $83.00 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.06% or 1.45 to trade at $2,338.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.13% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.09% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 105.59.
