Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Consumer Services and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI gained 1.37% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR), which rose 3.23% or 0.43 points to trade at 13.73 at the close. Meanwhile, Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT) added 2.71% or 0.51 points to end at 19.30 and Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA) was up 2.62% or 0.09 points to 3.53 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Galp Energia Nom (ELI:GALP), which fell 0.96% or 0.19 points to trade at 19.68 at the close. Greenvolt Energias Renovaveis SA (ELI:GVOLT) declined 0.82% or 0.07 points to end at 8.43 and Ibersol SGPS (ELI:IBS) was 0.00% or 0.00 points to 6.98.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 18 to 5 and 7 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for September delivery was up 0.90% or 0.76 to $85.42 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.20% or 0.98 to hit $82.39 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.76% or 18.10 to trade at $2,386.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.10% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.35% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 104.73.
