Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Utilities and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI rose 1.27%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were The Navigator Company SA (ELI:NVGR), which rose 4.52% or 0.16 points to trade at 3.61 at the close. Meanwhile, EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR) added 3.37% or 0.36 points to end at 11.03 and EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) was up 3.16% or 0.11 points to 3.42 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT), which fell 1.83% or 0.34 points to trade at 18.21 at the close. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT) declined 0.11% or 0.01 points to end at 4.37 and Greenvolt Energias Renovaveis SA (ELI:GVOLT) was 0.00% or 0.00 points to 8.23.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 18 to 10 and 2 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for January delivery was up 0.19% or 0.14 to $72.42 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.15% or 0.10 to hit $68.53 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.26% or 6.65 to trade at $2,579.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.02% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 106.50.
