Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Financials and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI rose 1.04%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT), which rose 5.62% or 0.86 points to trade at 16.15 at the close. Meanwhile, Sonae SGPS SA (ELI:YSO) added 2.39% or 0.02 points to end at 0.94 and Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA) was up 2.14% or 0.08 points to 3.63 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Nos SGPS SA (ELI:NOS), which fell 0.84% or 0.03 points to trade at 3.56 at the close. Ren Redes Energeticas Nacionais SGPS SA (ELI:RENE) declined 0.64% or 0.02 points to end at 2.35 and Corticeira Amorim (ELI:CORA) was down 0.55% or 0.05 points to 9.10.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 17 to 14 and 4 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for October delivery was up 3.02% or 2.36 to $80.43 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 3.53% or 2.64 to hit $77.37 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.67% or 16.50 to trade at $2,468.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.01% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.35% at 103.96.
