Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Industrials and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI gained 0.89% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR), which rose 3.93% or 0.54 points to trade at 14.27 at the close. Meanwhile, EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) added 3.71% or 0.13 points to end at 3.69 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT) was up 1.86% or 0.08 points to 4.37 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Galp Energia Nom (ELI:GALP), which fell 2.52% or 0.50 points to trade at 19.18 at the close. Semapa (ELI:SEM) declined 0.14% or 0.02 points to end at 14.68 and Greenvolt Energias Renovaveis SA (ELI:GVOLT) was down 0.06% or 0.01 points to 8.43.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 15 to 9 and 6 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for September delivery was up 0.32% or 0.27 to $85.35 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.45% or 0.37 to hit $82.47 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 1.86% or 44.30 to trade at $2,424.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.36% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.15% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.60% at 104.11.
