Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Consumer Goods and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI rose 0.78%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR), which rose 2.39% or 0.32 points to trade at 13.71 at the close. Meanwhile, Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA) added 1.33% or 0.05 points to end at 3.51 and The Navigator Company SA (ELI:NVGR) was up 1.22% or 0.05 points to 3.82 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Altri SGPS SA (ELI:ALSS), which fell 0.47% or 0.03 points to trade at 5.26 at the close. Ibersol SGPS (ELI:IBS) declined 0.29% or 0.02 points to end at 6.96 and Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT) was down 0.25% or 0.05 points to 19.60.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 17 to 13 and 5 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for August delivery was up 0.82% or 0.69 to $84.94 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.78% or 0.62 to hit $80.34 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.65% or 15.10 to trade at $2,344.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.07% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.11% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 104.86.
