Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Financials, Consumer Services and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI gained 0.69%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP), which rose 3.25% or 0.01 points to trade at 0.41 at the close. Meanwhile, Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT) added 3.07% or 0.52 points to end at 17.45 and Sonae SGPS SA (ELI:YSO) was up 0.74% or 0.01 points to 0.95 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP), which fell 1.05% or 0.04 points to trade at 3.86 at the close. EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR) declined 0.89% or 0.13 points to end at 14.42 and Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA) was down 0.72% or 0.02 points to 2.48.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 15 to 12 and 5 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for December delivery was up 3.11% or 2.43 to $80.48 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 3.27% or 2.43 to hit $76.81 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.12% or 3.25 to trade at $2,664.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.02% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.35% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 102.22.
