Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms, Basic Materials and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI added 0.69% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR), which rose 2.62% or 0.37 points to trade at 14.47 at the close. Meanwhile, Corticeira Amorim (ELI:CORA) added 1.70% or 0.15 points to end at 8.98 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT) was up 1.36% or 0.06 points to 4.47 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Galp Energia Nom (ELI:GALP), which fell 1.19% or 0.23 points to trade at 18.76 at the close. Ibersol SGPS (ELI:IBS) declined 0.83% or 0.06 points to end at 7.20 and Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA) was down 0.20% or 0.01 points to 3.07.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 19 to 7 and 4 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for November delivery was down 1.89% or 1.49 to $77.33 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.40% or 1.82 to hit $74.09 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.94% or 24.00 to trade at $2,536.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.16% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.11% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 101.57.
