Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Financials, Consumer Goods and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI rose 0.68% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT), which rose 1.75% or 0.29 points to trade at 16.84 at the close. Meanwhile, Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA) added 1.54% or 0.04 points to end at 2.51 and Semapa (ELI:SEM) was up 1.25% or 0.18 points to 14.58 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT), which fell 0.44% or 0.02 points to trade at 4.51 at the close. Galp Energia Nom (ELI:GALP) declined 0.41% or 0.07 points to end at 17.10 and Corticeira Amorim (ELI:CORA) was down 0.22% or 0.02 points to 8.92.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 21 to 5 and 7 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for November delivery was up 0.50% or 0.36 to $72.33 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.52% or 0.36 to hit $69.33 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 1.26% or 32.55 to trade at $2,613.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.05% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.29% at 101.06.
