Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financials, Consumer Services and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI rose 0.57%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were Corticeira Amorim (ELI:CORA), which rose 2.03% or 0.17 points to trade at 8.53 at the close. Meanwhile, Altri SGPS SA (ELI:ALSS) added 1.68% or 0.09 points to end at 5.13 and Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT) was up 1.52% or 0.28 points to 18.68 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA), which fell 11.51% or 0.32 points to trade at 2.49 at the close. EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR) declined 0.49% or 0.05 points to end at 10.13 and Sonae SGPS SA (ELI:YSO) was 0.32% or 0.00 points to 0.93.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 13 to 8 and 9 ended unchanged.
Shares in EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR) fell to 3-years lows; falling 0.49% or 0.05 to 10.13.
Brent oil for February delivery was down 0.03% or 0.02 to $72.29 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.04% or 0.03 to hit $68.51 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.70% or 18.64 to trade at $2,657.56 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.60% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.13% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.45% at 105.81.
