Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financials, Industrials and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI rose 0.55% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA), which rose 1.70% or 0.05 points to trade at 2.86 at the close. Meanwhile, CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT) added 1.70% or 0.09 points to end at 5.39 and Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP) was up 1.29% or 0.01 points to 0.49 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Altri SGPS SA (ELI:ALSS), which fell 0.85% or 0.05 points to trade at 5.25 at the close. Semapa (ELI:SEM) declined 0.70% or 0.10 points to end at 14.28 and EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) was down 0.64% or 0.02 points to 3.11.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 14 to 11 and 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 1.29% or 0.01 to 0.49.
Brent oil for March delivery was down 1.18% or 0.97 to $81.06 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.32% or 1.04 to hit $77.67 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 1.37% or 37.24 to trade at $2,755.04 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.08% to 1.03, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 108.82.
