Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI gained 0.55%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA), which rose 3.67% or 0.09 points to trade at 2.54 at the close. Meanwhile, Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT) added 2.11% or 0.36 points to end at 17.44 and Semapa (ELI:SEM) was up 1.92% or 0.28 points to 14.88 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT), which fell 0.47% or 0.02 points to trade at 4.22 at the close. Ibersol SGPS (ELI:IBS) declined 0.28% or 0.02 points to end at 7.22 and Altri SGPS SA (ELI:ALSS) was 0.00% or 0.00 points to 5.18.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 19 to 8 and 6 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for December delivery was down 0.52% or 0.40 to $76.78 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.26% or 0.19 to hit $73.38 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.06% or 1.50 to trade at $2,633.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.30% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.08% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 102.59.
