Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Utilities, Industrials and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI gained 0.51% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA), which rose 2.74% or 0.08 points to trade at 3.00 at the close. Meanwhile, EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR) added 1.89% or 0.19 points to end at 10.23 and EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) was up 1.07% or 0.03 points to 3.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Altri SGPS SA (ELI:ALSS), which fell 0.91% or 0.05 points to trade at 5.47 at the close. Galp Energia Nom (ELI:GALP) declined 0.72% or 0.12 points to end at 15.83 and Corticeira Amorim (ELI:CORA) was down 0.37% or 0.03 points to 7.99.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 15 to 10 and 6 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for March delivery was up 0.82% or 0.62 to $76.55 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.27% or 0.93 to hit $74.06 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.49% or 13.16 to trade at $2,655.84 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.36% to 1.03, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.40% at 108.77.
