Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Consumer Services and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI gained 0.50%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP), which rose 1.68% or 0.06 points to trade at 3.74 at the close. Meanwhile, EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR) added 1.21% or 0.17 points to end at 14.18 and Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP) was unchanged 1.16% or 0.00 points to 0.38 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Corticeira Amorim (ELI:CORA), which fell 1.23% or 0.11 points to trade at 8.82 at the close. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT) declined 0.72% or 0.03 points to end at 4.16 and Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT) was down 0.68% or 0.11 points to 16.11.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 16 to 9 and 5 ended unchanged.
Shares in Corticeira Amorim (ELI:CORA) fell to 52-week lows; falling 1.23% or 0.11 to 8.82.
Brent oil for October delivery was down 2.02% or 1.66 to $80.64 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 2.24% or 1.79 to hit $78.27 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.20% or 4.95 to trade at $2,508.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.27% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.22% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.28% at 102.67.
