Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Consumer Services and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI rose 0.49%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR), which rose 2.85% or 0.41 points to trade at 14.79 at the close. Meanwhile, EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) added 1.84% or 0.07 points to end at 3.87 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT) was up 1.47% or 0.07 points to 4.48 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA), which fell 8.46% or 0.26 points to trade at 2.79 at the close. Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT) declined 1.18% or 0.20 points to end at 16.75 and Corticeira Amorim (ELI:CORA) was down 0.66% or 0.06 points to 8.98.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 14 to 10 and 9 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for November delivery was down 0.79% or 0.58 to $73.17 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.88% or 0.62 to hit $69.72 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.09% or 2.20 to trade at $2,525.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.33% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.14% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.43% at 101.33.
