Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Utilities, Basic Materials and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI gained 0.46%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR), which rose 2.89% or 0.28 points to trade at 9.78 at the close. Meanwhile, The Navigator Company SA (ELI:NVGR) added 1.72% or 0.06 points to end at 3.54 and Semapa (ELI:SEM) was up 1.48% or 0.20 points to 13.74 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT), which fell 2.97% or 0.16 points to trade at 5.23 at the close. Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT) declined 0.39% or 0.07 points to end at 18.08 and Galp Energia Nom (ELI:GALP) was down 0.15% or 0.03 points to 16.49.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 16 to 11 and 5 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for March delivery was down 0.99% or 0.72 to $71.84 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.98% or 0.68 to hit $68.78 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.49% or 13.09 to trade at $2,632.01 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.13% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.20% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.40% at 107.78.
