Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Technology, Utilities and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI gained 0.45% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were Ibersol SGPS (ELI:IBS), which rose 3.35% or 0.24 points to trade at 7.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Semapa (ELI:SEM) added 1.84% or 0.26 points to end at 14.40 and Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP) was up 1.74% or 0.01 points to 0.41 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR), which fell 0.78% or 0.11 points to trade at 14.06 at the close. Corticeira Amorim (ELI:CORA) declined 0.56% or 0.05 points to end at 8.87 and EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) was down 0.55% or 0.02 points to 3.78.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 20 to 10 and 5 ended unchanged.
Shares in Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 1.74% or 0.01 to 0.41.
Brent oil for November delivery was down 1.84% or 1.48 to $78.88 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.12% or 1.64 to hit $75.78 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.38% or 9.60 to trade at $2,545.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.01% to 1.12, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.31% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 100.65.
