Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Utilities, Basic Materials and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI gained 0.40%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT), which rose 2.46% or 0.41 points to trade at 17.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA) added 1.68% or 0.04 points to end at 2.54 and The Navigator Company SA (ELI:NVGR) was up 0.88% or 0.03 points to 3.68 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP), which unchanged 0.61% or 0.00 points to trade at 0.41 at the close. Galp Energia Nom (ELI:GALP) declined 0.23% or 0.04 points to end at 17.08 and Greenvolt Energias Renovaveis SA (ELI:GVOLT) was down 0.18% or 0.02 points to 8.31.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 16 to 11 and 4 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for December delivery was up 1.39% or 1.02 to $74.23 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.36% or 0.96 to hit $71.33 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.75% or 20.00 to trade at $2,672.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.40% to 1.12, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.11% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.29% at 100.27.
