Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Telecoms and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI gained 0.40%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT), which rose 2.20% or 0.10 points to trade at 4.42 at the close. Meanwhile, Altri SGPS SA (ELI:ALSS) added 2.08% or 0.11 points to end at 5.16 and EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) was up 1.11% or 0.04 points to 3.74 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Corticeira Amorim (ELI:CORA), which fell 0.83% or 0.08 points to trade at 9.52 at the close. Sonae SGPS SA (ELI:YSO) declined 0.54% or 0.01 points to end at 0.92 and Ren Redes Energeticas Nacionais SGPS SA (ELI:RENE) was down 0.43% or 0.01 points to 2.33.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 15 to 13 and 4 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for August delivery was up 0.48% or 0.39 to $82.31 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.47% or 0.37 to hit $78.27 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 1.05% or 24.40 to trade at $2,351.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 1.00% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.15% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 1.23% at 103.90.
