Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Consumer Services and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI added 0.35%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were Ibersol SGPS (ELI:IBS), which rose 2.00% or 0.14 points to trade at 7.14 at the close. Meanwhile, Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP) added 1.49% or 0.01 points to end at 0.39 and Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA) was up 1.29% or 0.04 points to 3.45 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Altri SGPS SA (ELI:ALSS), which fell 1.09% or 0.05 points to trade at 4.72 at the close. Semapa (ELI:SEM) declined 0.84% or 0.12 points to end at 14.10 and EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) was down 0.77% or 0.03 points to 3.71.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 14 to 12 and 7 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for October delivery was down 0.33% or 0.27 to $80.42 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.87% or 0.68 to hit $77.67 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 1.00% or 25.20 to trade at $2,482.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.24% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.35% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 102.32.
