Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Technology and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI gained 0.31%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT), which rose 1.65% or 0.07 points to trade at 4.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT) added 1.62% or 0.31 points to end at 19.44 and Galp Energia Nom (ELI:GALP) was up 1.09% or 0.21 points to 19.09 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Corticeira Amorim (ELI:CORA), which fell 1.29% or 0.12 points to trade at 9.18 at the close. Altri SGPS SA (ELI:ALSS) declined 1.02% or 0.06 points to end at 5.34 and Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP) was 0.91% or 0.00 points to 0.34.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 11 to 11 and 10 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for September delivery was up 0.88% or 0.74 to $85.07 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.99% or 0.80 to hit $81.53 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.44% or 10.20 to trade at $2,341.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.36% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.04% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 105.18.
