Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Utilities, Consumer Services and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI added 0.18% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP), which rose 1.34% or 0.01 points to trade at 0.41 at the close. Meanwhile, Galp Energia Nom (ELI:GALP) added 0.76% or 0.13 points to end at 17.17 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT) was up 0.56% or 0.03 points to 4.53 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Corticeira Amorim (ELI:CORA), which fell 1.87% or 0.17 points to trade at 8.94 at the close. Sonae SGPS SA (ELI:YSO) declined 0.92% or 0.01 points to end at 0.97 and Ren Redes Energeticas Nacionais SGPS SA (ELI:RENE) was down 0.82% or 0.02 points to 2.43.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 11 to 11 and 9 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for November delivery was up 2.68% or 1.89 to $72.50 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 3.16% or 2.13 to hit $69.44 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 1.47% or 37.50 to trade at $2,579.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.32% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 101.50.
