Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI rose 0.14%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA), which rose 3.47% or 0.09 points to trade at 2.74 at the close. Meanwhile, Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT) added 1.73% or 0.32 points to end at 18.77 and Altri SGPS SA (ELI:ALSS) was up 1.45% or 0.08 points to 5.24 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR), which fell 2.30% or 0.24 points to trade at 9.99 at the close. Nos SGPS SA (ELI:NOS) declined 0.89% or 0.03 points to end at 3.36 and Corticeira Amorim (ELI:CORA) was down 0.85% or 0.07 points to 8.20.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 11 to 11 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR) fell to 3-years lows; down 2.30% or 0.24 to 9.99.
Brent oil for February delivery was up 1.47% or 1.06 to $73.25 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.92% or 1.32 to hit $69.91 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 1.40% or 38.09 to trade at $2,756.49 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.19% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.11% to 0.82.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.16% at 106.25.
