Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Financials, Utilities and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 2.49% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which rose 13.08% or 0.0051 points to trade at 0.0441 at the close. Meanwhile, Impresa SGPS (LS:IMPA) added 6.25% or 0.0220 points to end at 0.3740 and Teixeira Duarte (LS:TDSA) was up 4.81% or 0.0130 points to 0.2830 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which fell 8.16% or 0.0120 points to trade at 0.1350 at the close. EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) added 0.56% or 0.0360 points to end at 6.4860 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) was up 0.58% or 0.0450 points to 7.8520.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 38 to 10 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) fell to all time lows; falling 8.16% or 0.0120 to 0.1350.
Brent oil for May delivery was up 0.75% or 0.30 to $40.35 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 2.03% or 0.77 to hit $38.61 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 1.04% or 13.20 to trade at $1259.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.21% to 1.1155, while EUR/GBP fell 1.01% to 0.7748.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.02% at 96.17.
