Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financials, Telecoms and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 1.42%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 6.27% or 0.0180 points to trade at 0.3050 at the close. Meanwhile, Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) added 5.33% or 0.0129 points to end at 0.2550 and REN (LS:RENE) was up 2.89% or 0.0700 points to 2.4890 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR), which fell 1.25% or 0.0860 points to trade at 6.8140 at the close. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) declined 0.52% or 0.0160 points to end at 3.0790 and EDP (LS:EDP) was 0.00% or 0.0000 points to 2.9080.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 26 to 8 and 4 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for February delivery was down 1.77% or 1.12 to $62.12 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.81% or 1.05 to hit $56.94 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.88% or 11.36 to trade at $1283.54 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.15% to 1.1858, while EUR/GBP fell 0.55% to 0.8824.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 93.12.
