Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Utilities, Industrials and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 1.40% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were EDP (LS:EDP), which rose 9.32% or 0.2900 points to trade at 3.4000 at the close. Meanwhile, Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) added 4.07% or 0.2500 points to end at 6.3900 and EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) was up 2.68% or 0.2100 points to 8.0550 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which fell 1.44% or 0.0043 points to trade at 0.2943 at the close. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) declined 0.97% or 0.0350 points to end at 3.5900 and Sonae (LS:YSO) was down 0.87% or 0.0100 points to 1.1330.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 19 to 12 and 6 ended unchanged.
Shares in EDP (LS:EDP) rose to 52-week highs; rising 9.32% or 0.2900 to 3.4000. Shares in Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) rose to all time highs; rising 4.07% or 0.2500 to 6.3900.
Brent oil for July delivery was up 1.30% or 1.00 to $78.12 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.45% or 0.32 to hit $71.02 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.11% or 1.50 to trade at $1319.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.28% to 1.1974, while EUR/GBP fell 0.03% to 0.8815.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.21% at 92.25.
