Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Industrials, Financials and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 1.39%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 5.09% or 0.0125 points to trade at 0.2580 at the close. Meanwhile, Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) added 3.42% or 0.2500 points to end at 7.5700 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) was up 3.14% or 0.0860 points to 2.8260 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC), which fell 0.55% or 0.0050 points to trade at 0.9050 at the close. Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS) declined 0.45% or 0.050 points to end at 11.050 and F.Rama (LS:RAMA) was 0.00% or 0.000 points to 9.650.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 23 to 13 and 6 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for August delivery was up 2.57% or 1.94 to $77.43 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 2.11% or 1.41 to hit $68.14 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.14% or 1.80 to trade at $1300.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 1.09% to 1.1662, while EUR/GBP rose 0.84% to 0.8780.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.79% at 94.06.
