Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Utilities and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 1.35%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Semapa (LS:SEM), which rose 3.83% or 0.5000 points to trade at 13.5400 at the close. Meanwhile, Ramada Investimentos e Industria SA (LS:RAMA) added 3.29% or 0.250 points to end at 7.850 and Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) was up 2.81% or 0.1600 points to 5.8500 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which fell 0.34% or 0.0006 points to trade at 0.1780 at the close. Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) declined 0.10% or 0.0150 points to end at 14.2900 and EDP (LS:EDP) was 0.00% or 0.0000 points to 3.1100.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 24 to 7 and 5 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ramada Investimentos e Industria SA (LS:RAMA) rose to 52-week lows; gaining 3.29% or 0.250 to 7.850.
Brent oil for February delivery was up 0.93% or 0.56 to $60.76 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.77% or 0.40 to hit $52.05 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.19% or 2.40 to trade at $1249.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.41% to 1.1363, while EUR/GBP fell 0.79% to 0.8991.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.34% at 97.030.
