Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Financials and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.89% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which rose 2.55% or 0.0060 points to trade at 0.2415 at the close. Meanwhile, J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) added 2.19% or 0.2850 points to end at 13.2950 and Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) was up 2.01% or 0.0036 points to 0.1828 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP), which fell 0.59% or 0.0850 points to trade at 14.2400 at the close. Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) declined 0.36% or 0.0200 points to end at 5.6000 and Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) was down 0.31% or 0.0060 points to 1.9360.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 24 to 10 and 2 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for April delivery was up 1.03% or 0.64 to $62.62 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.71% or 0.38 to hit $54.04 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.25% or 3.25 to trade at $1315.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.31% to 1.1377, while EUR/GBP fell 0.39% to 0.8781.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.22% at 96.025.
