Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Utilities, Consumer Goods and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.79%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR), which rose 6.28% or 0.5250 points to trade at 8.8900 at the close. Meanwhile, The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) added 1.37% or 0.0700 points to end at 5.1700 and Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) was up 1.28% or 0.140 points to 11.100 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were F.Rama (LS:RAMA), which fell 2.29% or 0.200 points to trade at 8.550 at the close. Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) declined 1.21% or 0.0110 points to end at 0.8950 and Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) was down 1.02% or 0.0300 points to 2.9000.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 18 to 17 and 2 ended unchanged.
Shares in EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) rose to all time highs; gaining 6.28% or 0.5250 to 8.8900.
Brent oil for September delivery was up 2.03% or 1.51 to $76.06 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 3.19% or 2.17 to hit $70.25 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.57% or 7.20 to trade at $1261.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.39% to 1.1658, while EUR/GBP fell 0.05% to 0.8809.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.35% at 94.28.
