Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms, Basic Materials and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.73%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT), which rose 3.82% or 0.1320 points to trade at 3.5900 at the close. Meanwhile, Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) added 3.33% or 0.0250 points to end at 0.7750 and Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) was up 2.19% or 0.1150 points to 5.3650 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which fell 3.18% or 0.0062 points to trade at 0.1890 at the close. Semapa (LS:SEM) declined 0.56% or 0.0800 points to end at 14.1200 and REN (LS:RENE) was down 0.41% or 0.0100 points to 2.4040.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 21 to 11 and 5 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for February delivery was up 1.98% or 1.17 to $60.26 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 2.84% or 1.43 to hit $51.72 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.04% or 0.50 to trade at $1230.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.05% to 1.1372, while EUR/GBP rose 0.45% to 0.8903.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.14% at 96.812.
