Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.71%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR), which rose 3.68% or 0.1520 points to trade at 4.2860 at the close. Meanwhile, Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) added 2.78% or 0.0600 points to end at 2.2150 and Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) was up 2.32% or 0.3800 points to 16.7800 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which fell 1.91% or 0.0047 points to trade at 0.2411 at the close. Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) declined 1.06% or 0.120 points to end at 11.200 and Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) was down 0.62% or 0.0050 points to 0.8050.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 18 to 17 and 2 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for November delivery was up 0.71% or 0.56 to $79.62 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.60% or 1.11 to hit $70.36 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.62% or 7.40 to trade at $1209.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.19% to 1.1628, while EUR/GBP rose 0.16% to 0.8919.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.24% at 94.82.
